DNow FAQ’s

Where will I be staying?
You will be staying in a Flint River family’s home in the Northern Madison County area. You will find out on the night of registration what home you will be in.

Can I invite my friends and will they be able to stay with me?
We encourage students to invite friends to every event, especially DNOW WKND. If the friend is the same gender and age as the student, we make it a priority to place the student and guest together.

Will my student be driven around only by adults?
Yes! We make sure that your student is in a vehicle driven by an approved driver.

How will you ensure the safety of my student?
All drivers, host home parents (including anyone in the home over 18 years old), and Bible Study Leaders are required to complete a Background Check. Flint River Student Ministry makes sure all Background Checks are up to date.

If I have a game or appointment I can’t get out of, can I still participate in the weekend?
If at all possible, try to rearrange your schedule to be a part of the whole weekend. You don’t want to miss out. If you can’t get out of your other commitment, make sure to download, print, and fill out the Time-Away form.

I have food allergies. Who do I notify about this?
Please let Flint River Student Ministry and your Host Home know about your food allergies on Check-In night. Please also make note of the food allergies when you sign up online for DNOW WKND.

Can I keep my cell phone with me?
To eliminate as many distractions as possible, host homes will limit the use of ALL CELL PHONES during group and bible study times. We recommend not bringing phones or expensive electronics to DNOW WKND and will not be responsible for lost or damaged electronics. All leaders will have phones if an emergency or special need arises. Please leave all other technology at home. Thank you for supporting us on this!
